If you play games you play in a future world, in the past or in a fantasy world. OK, you have games that simulate the real world…..but simulate, you never play in the real world.
We are working on a concept in which you play in a digital game environment on a console or PC and are confronted with real world messages. That can be radio or telephone messages, short messages or TV broadcasts. But it can also be video telephone calls. Or internet messages. This is a big leap forward from the current adds that sometimes can be found when playing.
Imagine you are stuck in the game and your game coach or friend pops up and gives you a hint! Or while playing the game you virtually enter a sitting room and the TV shows live pictures.
Or imagine the infinite possibilities when there is live communication possible between the game and a friend or unknown using his cell phone camera or who is texting. Or your secretary or office manager instructing your new schedule. Not from a separate screen pop-up but from within the game itself! Truly augmented reality.
