Do you like home training on a bike? Or exercising in a sportschool on a kind-of-bike with a TV-monitor in front of you? Of course not; it is boring, it’s only cardio. It is not biking. It improves a little if the monitor shows virtual reality exercises and existing wellknown race tracks like Alpe D’Huez or Tour de France.
But it is not biking. Biking is the art of balancing a frame with two wheels that is rather unstable. Biking is the feeling of leaning into a curve.
Can you simulate this in a stationary situation? No, you cannot balance a bike or simulate centrifugal force when standing still.
But you can experience it. We call this Balance Bike. A brand new and really exciting way of training or rehab.
Balance Bike is developed in close collaboration with Grendel Games and the proto was engineered by Mecon. Technical University Darmstadt was responsible for the Open Source Maps application.
After many years of development we recently showed the feasibility of the concept with the prototype demonstration facility. The 2nd phase mechatronical @ gaming development is currently pursued with investors.
